The famous wooden sculpture of Vasko Lipovac
Exhibited in 1990 in the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments in Split during the exhibition Tribute to Early Croatian Heritage, afterwards donated to the Museum, the wooden sculpture The Croatian King by Vasko Lipovac pays tribute to the famous relief of the ruler from the baptismal font in the baptistry of the Split Cathedral.
This relief, from the second half of the 11th century, shows a crowned Croatian ruler on the throne and is believed to have originated from the altar screen of the coronation basilica of King Zvonimir, the Church of SS Peter and Moses, in Solin.
The replica of this sculpture represents the award of the MFAF expert jury.
