One month ago, at the 8th International Archaeological Film Festival in the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments in Split, two juries and the audience decided on five awards and two special mentions.

Expert Jury members: five remarkable experts

Five remarkable experts from the fields of art, film and archeology formed the Expert Jury, and five outstanding students formed the Student Jury.

Ana Hušman, president of the Expert Jury, is a visual artist and director who, through her artistic creation, deals with experimental films in which she explores and analyzes the structure and texture of film elements through various forms of film, installation, book, image, sound and text.

Deni Tojčić is an archaeologist and curator of the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments in Split, and is also the author of the museum’s recently closed exhibition “Chroatorum Bellatores – Warriors in the Early Middle Ages”.

Saša Ban is a Croatian director who questions and addresses various political and social issues through his work. He is the co-author of the documentary series “Concrete Sleepers”, which over two seasons has been exploring tourist architecture in Croatia from the time of the former Yugoslavia.

Dino Demicheli is Associate Professor at the Department of Archeology of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb, one of the leading researchers of ancient epigraphy on the territory of ​​central Dalmatia and, since 2018, the head of archaeological research in Salona, ​​through which archeology students have the opportunity to discover the archaeological material from the ancient metropolis.

Cyrille Gouyette is an art historian, curator and project manager at The Louvre. He joined the Louvre Museum in 1993 and since then has been developing educational programs for young people and visitors with disabilities, as well as traveling exhibitions. Recently, his activity has been focused on street art, encouraging street artists to find inspiration in the works of old masters.

Student Jury: different fields, different expertise

The fact that among the members of the Student Jury are students from different fields, certainly speaks of the importance and popularity of our Festival. Ana Morosavljević is a student of archeology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, Jadran Parunov is a student of Film and Video at the Academy of Arts in Split, Đivo Lučić is studying History and Art History in Split, Ana Stojanović is a future conservator – restorer, while Anamarija Papić is studying Applied computing at the Department for professional studies in Split.
