The 7th International Archaeology Film Festival is at our doorstep and we present you its visual identity accompanying all printed festival material. The interlace pattern, the most common ornament with its many versions appears on nearly all early medieval Croatian monuments and decorative fragments of church furnishings, many of which can be seen at the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments, the venue of the International Archaeological Film Festival.
The festival visual identity was designed by Zoran Boban, logo by Silvana Juraga and photograph by Zoran Alajbeg.
21 competing films
For three days in a row, from November 10 – 12, 2022 the museum’s main exhibition hall will become a large movie theater where 21 films in competition will be screened in the afternoon and evening hours. The audience will have the unique opportunity to watch high quality documentary films amid the museum’s stone archaeological artifacts. Short, medium or long, these documentaries abound in interesting topics about scientific and archaeological discoveries, presenting studies, analyses and reconstructions of unknown or less known monuments and artifacts.
Two attractive project presentations
Besides films, there will be two presentations, one of which focuses on the increasingly popular street art, namely in Paris and beyond, brought by Cyrille Gouyette, and the impact on citizens brought in relation with museum masterpieces with a completely new interpretation where city facades become fragments of an open-air museum. The other presentation is by Paraskevi Kalamara, Ph.D. about The Byzantine and Christian Museum in Athens and its rich collection of more than 30,000 artifacts from the Late Roman / Early Byzantine period until the present, its temporary exhibitions and activities aimed at fostering better communication with a wider audience.
The 21 films will be competing for one of the three Jury awards, the Audience award and, for the first time, the Students’ jury award.
